OK well here goes… I’ve been working on design for the past several years in various capacities. Most of the work I’ve done has been for on-screen viewing (an e-newsletter for instance.) However I feel that what you see on screen i.e. websites, pictures, newsletters, etc. should be just as beautiful as in print. I’ll be focusing mainly on everyday design work like newsletters, brochures, and business cards, and then some attention to web design or more specifically implementing CSS.
For starters I’d like to make mention of a couple sites containing stock resources (free of charge but please check the lisence.) They are as follows (there are more but these are the ones I use regularly):
Free stock photos: http://www.sxc.hu
Free stock vectors: http://www.vecteezy.com
Free Photoshop brushes: http://www.brusheezy.com
Free fonts: http://www.urbanfonts.com
This should be enough for getting started. My first tutorial (hopefully tomorrow) will be on making professional looking newsletters quickly. Stay tuned…
